The weekend has started. The day starts very slowly. I’ve got enough time for doing every thing. Time to do morning rituals arrive. Slight uneasiness in stomach makes me to rush to the toilet. After some time, I feel a sort of easiness and I feel relaxed. I am in no hurry to come out. After all its weekendJ. I look around and can see the things/accessories/toilet cleaner/tiles cleaner/hand wash. Then I went through its brand names and the list started from Harpic, Lizol, Santoor, Gillette, Odonil, etc, etc.
After some time, my eyes rolled away from that corner, I started looking around again to find something new. Wash basin came to my sight. After observing it for a while, I could see its colour has turned from bright white to light green. A sign of contamination because of continuous use of water while cleaning hands, brushing the tooth, blah blah.
After some time, I started feeling a sort of emptiness and easiness. Main part of morning ritual is doneJ. I flush the toilet and bid good bye to my by-product. I flush it two or three times more. This provides a power wash and rinse J I move to wash basin and wash my hands. Then I splash some water on my face. I am feeling much better now and I am in no hurry to come out. I look around and now the commode catches my attention. I open the window next to commode. I started staring at commode. 4 days back its colour was bright white. Now, I can see its been turned into light green and at some places dark green. There are few spots of other colours also. But I don’t go into its details as I am a colour blind person ;) My first task of this weekend is finalised. Clean the toilet, wash basin, washroom tiles. This happens on start of every weekend.
I expressed this desire my wife. This time, we decided to add a new twist to our routine and finally agreed upon to clean each others toilets ;) I felt for a moment that it’s a good deal, as I do not take much care of my toilet during weekdays. After all, I am a busy man in this fast paced world and who has the time and luxury to view the toilet scenery on week days?
We move to each others territory with all the available weapons. Disinfectants, toilet cleaner, brush; tiles cleaner, broom joins the party. I enter the battlefield cautiously. After all it is a battle between the germs and me, with the weapons in my hand. My wife always complains that I am too obsessive about cleanliness and tidiness. I agree with her to some extent.
I follow all the routine steps to clean all that stuff which I feel needs better look. 10 more minutes and washroom starts shining. A chuckle reflects on my face. It is a sign amusement and satisfaction. Now it is the end of hard fought battle. Time to take bath/shower now. Today it is going to last for 10 more minutes than usual. I have just returned from a war and these 10 extra minutes are quite justifiable.
My weekend has just started. Signing off with this poem found somewhere.
My Favorite Place
Restrooms and loo's, are some of the names
But the intent and the use, are always the same
Crapper and shitter, are just some of the slang
Not just to do business, but to gossip and hang
So appreciate the places, everyone must go
To relieve the inner pressures, and let it all flow.
